Sponsor A Training

The Funding Forum creates a unique avenue for individuals, foundations, corporations, lending institutions and international aid organizations to donate to a professional level capacity-building training that will positively impact people all over the world.

We believe that strengthening the capacity of non-profits to do valuable work is one of the great investments available to donors. We encourage you to consider underwriting the training and being part of a movement to exponentially change the face of non-profit effectiveness worldwide.

Sponsoring the Funding Forum Non-Profit Incubator or the Funding Forum Capacity-Building Conference gives you:

  • The option of designating a specific population or region of the world you would like to benefit. For example, you may be interested in providing training for women of Afghanistan, charter schools in the United States, HIV/AIDS educators in Africa, community leaders of East Timor or administrators of schools for street children in India.

  • The option of training non-profits you have funded in the past; or, non-profits who have sent you weak proposals that you wish you could have funded, if you had only been more convinced of their ability to use the money well.

  • The chance to exponentially increase the impact of your funding dollars. Instead of donating to one NGO for a project, you can choose to underwrite the training for 60 project officers at 30 NGOs (two workshop participants from each NGO), all dealing with the same issue. This donation allows “giving” to change to a new paradigm where one NGO receiving a $98,000 grant for child abuse prevention activities becomes, instead, 30 trained NGOs with the ability to bring in millions of dollars in resources and affect millions of lives.

  • Pre-screening non-profits you may wish to fund. Since the participants write the proposal during the workshop, under the professional guidance of the facilitators, you can fund such projects with confidence, knowing the planning process has been extensive and complete.

  • A tax-benefit from your donation, as the Non-Profit Incubator serves as a direct link to registered non-profit organizations that offer tax benefits to donors.

We offer two levels of support:

  • The Funding Forum Non-Profit Incubator for 30 organizations.
  • The Funding Forum Capacity-Building Conference for 100 organizations.

Imagine sponsoring 30 non-profits who all work in the field of child abuse (or animal rights, etc.). In one week, you will change the story of how these organizations plan and implement—and how they will approach funders in the future: as partners with a shared vision for changing the world. Perhaps you will even come with an organization as part of their team—all working together as they learn to develop a solid project plan and translate it into a funding proposal. That compelling proposal may work its way back to you as a request for additional funding, or may go out into a wider world of supporters and donors.

Imagine changing a struggling community by sponsoring 100 non-profits. In one week, you will take them from muddled thinking and scattered project planning, to crystal clear visionaries who know how to write mission statements, goals and objectives, statements of need, implementation and evaluation plans, and line item budgets—that will pass the scrutiny of any funder’s board and CPA. Imagine having funders waiting on the sidelines to receive those proposals. Imagine the possibilities.

The base cost for sponsorship of the five-day workshop is $3,250 per non-profit participating. Each non-profit is encouraged to bring two staff who will work on the same project development plan/funding proposal for their organization.

Our goal is always to determine the most cost-effective location for the workshop to take place, to minimize additional costs for travel and accommodations for participants.
